Shop Policies

Thank you for choosing Hardline 4x4. To ensure the best experience for our customers, we’ve outlined our shop policies below. These policies help maintain a smooth and professional relationship between our team and valued customers.

 

NO CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PARTS We do not install customer-supplied parts due to non-transferable vendor warranties. Product warranties apply only to the original purchaser.

EXCEPTION: If we agree to install customer-supplied parts as a one-time courtesy, our labor rate is $179/hour with no warranty from Hardline 4x4.

 

NO EXCEPTIONS FOR GEARS: We will not install customer-supplied gear sets or install kits under any circumstances. All gear-related parts must be purchased directly from Hardline 4x4.

 

VEHICLE STORAGE FEES: Vehicles left at our shop more than five (5) business days after work completion will incur a storage fee of $35 per day. We have limited space and need to accommodate current customers.

 

PARTS MUST ARRIVE BEFORE SCHEDULING WORK: We do not schedule jobs until all parts have arrived and been verified. Custom off-road work takes time, and we want to maintain our high standards.

 

ESTIMATES: We provide one free estimate, including a single revision. Complex or specialized estimates may require an upfront fee. Additional revisions are $169. If you proceed with us for the build, this fee will be credited to your final invoice.

 

ALIGNMENT SERVICES: We only perform alignments on vehicles that have received lift kits, steering work, or related repairs from Hardline 4x4. We do not offer standalone walk-in alignments.

NO MOBILE MECHANIC SERVICES: All work is performed at our shop. Customers are responsible for arranging transportation for their vehicle. If needed, we recommend Horton's Wrecker Service (703-530-7700) for towing assistance.

 

VEHICLE SERVICE ELIGIBILITY:

  • Jeeps: We specialize in 1997 and newer Jeeps and do not service vintage models (MB, CJ, YJ, etc.).

  • Trucks: We service 2000 and newer trucks due to parts availability and repair costs.

 

TRANSMISSION WORK: We do not perform transmission repairs but will install new or remanufactured transmissions sourced through our vendors.

 

RECYCLING & PARTS RETURN POLICY:

  • Old parts are recycled weekly unless you request to keep them before installation.

  • Old wheels and tires must be picked up within 24 hours, or they will be recycled.

 

LABOR CHARGES:

  • Minimum labor charge: 1 hour.

  • Custom work (fabrication, electrical, welding, etc.) may require up to 2 additional labor hours without prior approval if the customer is unavailable. Work requiring more than 2 extra hours will be approved before proceeding.

 

DISCOUNTS FOR FIRST RESPONDERS & MILITARY: We offer select discounts on parts (not labor) for military personnel, veterans, and first responders. A valid ID is required.

 

PAYMENT POLICY

  • All work must be paid in full before vehicle pickup.

  • We do not work with insurance companies for payments.

  • A full deposit on parts is required before ordering.

  • Accepted payment methods: Cash, credit/debit (3.5% fee), or certified check. No personal checks, ACH, or wire transfers.

 

ALL SALES FINAL: Due to the custom nature of our work, all sales on parts are final. Labor costs may be refunded if the job is canceled before work begins. Customers are responsible for picking up ordered parts, even if they cancel installation.

 

DROP-OFF REQUIREMENT: All vehicles scheduled for work exceeding one (1) hour must be dropped off. Due to unpredictable timelines, customers should arrange transportation. After-hours drop-off is available.

 

OFF-ROAD USE ONLY: All modifications performed by Hardline 4x4 are intended for off-road use. We are not responsible for compliance with state inspections or regulations.

 

LABOR WARRANTY: We offer a one-year labor warranty for parts we install. If an installation issue arises, we will repair it free of charge. This excludes gears and bearings. The 500-mile nut & bolt check is required to maintain this warranty.

We do not cover warranty repairs performed by other shops. Any damage from accidents or off-road use voids our warranty.

 

PARTS WARRANTY: Hardline 4x4 does not provide part warranties. Manufacturer warranties apply, and we will assist in warranty claims when applicable.

 

RE-GEAR WARRANTY: Re-gearing components (gears, bearings, lockers, seals, etc.) are covered for 3 months from installation due to potential off-road exposure to contaminants.

 

QUALITY PARTS ONLY: We use only high-quality parts and do not install subpar components. Ask us about our preferred vendors.

 

POLICY CHANGES: Shop policies may change without notice. Please refer to our website or in-shop postings for updates.

 

PRIVACY POLICY: We do not share or sell personal data. Customer service history is securely stored and may be reported to CARFAX as part of the vehicle's history report.
